Nagarhole National Park

It is located in the Mysore District and is at about 218 kms from Bangalore. Spread over an area of  645 sq,km the park has a very dense forest cover with many  streams,valleys, hiils and waterfalls.

It is a very popular national park of Karnataka that is home to tigers, elephants, gaur, leopards, wild boar, bear, sloth bear and many other species of animals. These forests are very rich with trees of commercial value like Silver Oak, Sandalwood and Teak.

Bannerghatta National Park

Located at just 22 kms from the main city of Bangalore this is one of most visited national parks of Karnataka.

Spread over an area of 25,000 acre this park has a mini zoo, an aquarium, a huge butterfly park, a museum , a snake park and a children’s park. Its home to many species of animals like tiger, lions, elephants, bear, beer and variety of birds and butterflies. Go for the amazing Grand safari here to spot tigers, leopards, lions and elephants.

BRT Wildlife Sanctuary

Biligiri Rangana Hills, commonly known as B R Hills is a picturesque hill range in south-eastern Karnataka, bordering with Tamil Nadu. The forests around the famed Biligiriranga Swamy Temple here is known as the Biligiriranga Swamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary or BRT Wildlife Sanctuary. Spread over  539.58 sq this sanctuary is  known for its many species normal and medicinal plants.

It is also home to elephants, bisons, sambars, bear, tigers,  panthers and many species of birds and butterflies.  One can enjoy  trekking, amateur fishing, professional angling, coracle boat rides, bird watching, river rafting and outdoor camping here.

Dubare Elephant Camp

Situated in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, by the bank of river Cauvery this is an elephant camp run by the Forest Department of Karnataka. A great place for wildlife enthusiasts and  travelers this is one place where you can get close to the giant elephants with ease.

It is one of the  largest sanctuaries of India. Located near river Kali in Uttara Knnada district  tranquil and serene Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 834.16 sq. km.

It is home to leopards, tigers, black panthers, elephants, gaur, crocodiles and many more animals and birds. Other tan open jeep wildlife safaris Dandeli is also famed for white water river rafting, kayaking and canoying.

Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary

Situated just 16 kms from Mysore this sanctuary includes of six islets on the banks of the Kaveri River.

Kudremukh National Park

This is one of the most picturesque wildlife sanctuaries in Karnataka. Located near Chikmagalur ,in the Western Ghats, the park is spread over an area of over 600 sq km The Kudremukh National Park falls under the Global Tiger Conservation Priority-I.
