Plan a trip to Chail


Situated in the Solan District just 45 km South East  of Shimla is one of the finest hill station of Himachal Pradesh – Chail.

This quaint little Hill Station is situated on a ridge that is covered with thick deodar tress and  experiences cool lovely weather all throughout the summers and snowy winters . Chail was developed as the summer capital of the Patiala Maharajas in the 1920s. The beautifully built stone  Palace  of Chail is a famous tourist spot now  and a deluxe hotel.

1.Chail Palace

The grounds of the beautiful Chail Palace that is made of stone are open to tourists all day. Sit here and enjoy a cup of coffee  with the most serene natual beauty and a lovely flower garden.

2.Chail Cricket ground

This is the highest cricket ground In the world. There is a cricket pitch, on a hill top here that is surrounded by  pine and gigantic deodars and looks really beautiful.

3. Chail Wildlife Sanctuary

A trip to the Chail Wildlife sanctuary is one of the best way ton discover Chail’s natural beauty. This is a paradise for wildlife lovers and adventure seekers.

4. Kali ka Tibba

A fully marble Kali temple built on top of a mountain. The drive to this temple is not a easy one but once you reach the view is simply mind blowing. The sunset view from here too is amazing.

5. Gurudwara Sahib

Located at 1 km above the Chail bazar, this Gurudwara was built in 1907 and the architecture and interiors strangely resembles that of a Goan church.

Closest Airport – Chandigarh (108 kms)

Closest Railhead- Kalka (77 kms)

Well connected by road from Shimla, Chandigarh, Delhi.

Chail is a small, serene and quite hilly town that is far from the hustle and bustle of city.  Go to Chail if you love mountain peace. You can also visit Shimla and Kasauli while on a trip here.  Chail offers a majestic and awe inspiring view of the Himalayan ranges.
