1. Pelling, Sikkim

2. Gangtok, Sikkim

3. Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh 

One of the most unique tourist attractions in North East India is the breathtaking and pristine Tawang bordering Tibet. Situated at a height of 12,000 ft. above the sea leveI it is Arunachal Pradesh’s ‘little Tibet‘ in the true sense.  Tawang MonasteryTawang War Memorial, Gorsam Chorten, Sela Pass, Nuranang Falls, and Jaswant Garh  are the main attractions here. 4. Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh

Hills dotted with pine trees and the intriguing Apatani tribe with women with  lovely face tattoos and nose plugs are the main attractions of the picturesque Ziro Valley. 5. Cherrapunji, Meghalaya

Cherrapunji is the answer to the most commonly asked general knowledge question regarding the highest rainfall in India. However, it is a lot beyond that. Visit it from March to July for the most comfortable trip to this scenic place. It is set in wild moorlands and resembles Scotland in many ways. 6. Shillong, Meghalaya

7. Mokokchung, Nagaland

This is the centre of the culture of the Ao Nagas. The warriors of this tribe used to wear beautiful black and red handwoven shawl with its white decorated band to signify their ability over their enemies. Situated at 1,325 metres up in the hills, it has a very pleasant climate.  Mokokchung is one of the most recommended places for trekkers. It is a laid back town but the hill side setting would leave you spell bound. Nagaland’s capital city Kohima is also a worth visit, while in Nagaland. 8. Aizawl, Mizoram

Aizawl simulates painted backdrop of an Italian opera because of the steep ridge on which it is located- its simply picturesque. Mizoram State Museum is a must visit over here. 9. Jatinga, Assam

Jatinga lies in Barail range of Assam. Ornithologists flock to Jatinga because it is said to be the reason of bird suicide on moonless nights during the months of September to November. During these late monsoon months, just after sunset, numerous local and migratory birds commit mass suicide here. It is the most noteworthy, beautiful and ever fresh looking village on the Haflong-Silchar road, that makes it one of the most recommended holiday spots. Haflong near Jatinga is also a picturesque and serene hillstation worth a visit.
