A MODERN WORLD FESTIVAL CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF INDIA
Gourmet Planet in association with Government of India Tourism’s Incredible India campaign will be presenting ‘The Great Indian Golchakkar‘, a carnival of food, entertainment and design. It will be a three day long extravaganza that will celebrate gastronomical, cultural and artistic culture of modern India.
The carnival will showcase a kaleidoscope of pan-Indian sounds and music with over 20 performing acts from across the nation catering to every kind of music from Jazz & Blues to Ska, EDM, Electronica, Hindi Rock, Sufi and everything in between.
The GIG Carnival provides a platform to create & increase awareness for the myriad and rare crafts of India . Some of the rare craftsmanship on interacative display at The Gig Carnival will be traditional natural perfumes of Kannauj, Rogan Art from Gujarat, Stone Pottery from Meghalaya, Jamdani work from Benaras, Silver Filligree work from Orissa, Mask Making from Majuli, Leather craft from Pondicherry amongst a host of other traditional handicrafts that weave the tapestry of traditional handicraft and art works from across the nation.
In sharp contrast to these interactive displays, GIG will also have a luxury crafts section emphasizing on luxury Made-In-India brands that use traditional methodologies with a modern design aesthetic.
THE GIG Carnival will be putting forth just 40 specially selected and curated restaurants (by Gourmet Planet) in 12 lush green acres of JLN Stadium apart from some great and different eating experiences and food from across the country. The varied street foods of India will be a prominent feature at The GiG. This is being done to enhance your experience at The GiG.
