30th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism along with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs is a joyful celebration of Indian cultural heritage and the rich traditions. It is the largest crafts fair in India that is organised in an international level. Promotion of the handicraft items is the motto of the festival.
It is celebrated for fifteen days with great fervor and millions of tourists from all over the world gather at the venue to witness this wonderful festival. The diverseness of the cultures in India included the rural heritage is acknowledged through the unique Surajkund Festival with colors, drum beats and joie de vivre.
The Magnificence of the festival
20 countries from all over the world and all Indian states would participate in the festival this year. Telangana is the theme state and China is the partner country for the huge event. Skilled artists from far and wide get an opportunity to exhibit their handicrafts, handlooms and handmade articles in this fair. Bright colors and unique designs of the handloom and handcrafts would surely steal your heart away.
For the entertainment of the visitors, there are a number of dance performances, folk music shows and cultural events. A large number of renowned national and international folk artistes and cultural groups present day-time performances at the Chaupals, the open-air theatres, located in the Mela premises. The main Chaupal is the venue for the shows in the evening.
Surajkund Crafts Mela is truly a treasure trove of crafts prepared through traditional methods and there is an exclusive section where these are exhibited. The handmade articles are almost getting extinct due to enhanced machine techniques and this festival makes sure to revive the traditionally prepared items.
Local cuisines of the respective places from far and wide are available at the multi-cuisine food court of Surajkund Festival. Even kids can have a great time over here because of the amusement places, adventure sports and joy rides.

Surajkund is easily accessible from Delhi. South Delhi is just 8 kilometers away. Tourist cabs are conveniently available from New Delhi to reach Surajkund in Faridabad. Buses can be boarded from ISBT, Faridabad, Shivaji Stadium, Gurgaon Bus Depot.
Traveling by metro is the most comfortable way to reach the venue. You can reach Badarpur from Central Secretariat Metro Station. Surajkund is just 5 kilometers from Badarpur.
