Ahmedabad’s most awaited Satvik Food Festival 2016


Sattvik Food Festival was first started more than a decade back, in the year 2003 by SRISTI,  Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions. The main aim of its inception was to give a boost to the local crops and nutritional  that are grown in less developed areas of the  state and gather funds so that their conservation is made easier. This festival aspires to bring the lesser known but nutrient rich food to the urbane populace. This initiative was welcomed wholeheartedly by the people of Ahmedabad which has made it a successful food festival.

9th January 2016 to 11th January 2016. In the impressive and huge campus of Indian Institute of Management, – 132 Feet, Ring Road, Opposite Blind People Association, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad

The Unparalleled Food Festival

Organic food stuffs and healthy delicacies prepared from rare and excotic crops are the main highlights of Sattvik Food Festival. Gujarati delicacies like “khichu”, “dhokla” and many other mouthwatering dishes prepared by youngsters, home makers and experts await you at the grand food festival. You can get mango juice made from organic mangoes that can be refrigerated and used for around a month.

Yes, mangoes in winters. Doesn’t it sound amazing? You get many organic vegetables and organic spices like turmeric as well as some rare crops that you would not get anywhere else. Pans , pots and other cookery items prepared by expert and traditional potters are also available for sale in this food festival. You can even buy aloe vera gel and many other rare plant based skin care items too here. All in all, it is a must visit for everyone, old and young.

The tribes of Gujarat, who are an integral part of this festival ,  showcase their culture and set up food and other item stores , which is a huge attraction of this festival.

Entry fee

Unlike the rock shows and DJ parties charging exorbitant rates for hardly two or three hours, the entry to this food festival is at the quite nominal  and you can stay there as long as you want to.

How to reach?

Reaching Ahmedabad quite easy. Ahmedabad is well connected by air, railways and roadways, from all major cities of Gujarat and rest of India.

And if you are aleady in Ahmedabad just drive to the venue or take BRTS bus to reach IIM(A) campus. You can get down at the stop named Blind People Association. The venue is at a 5 minute walking distance from there.
