Manali Winter Carnival 2016


During the months of December and January, there is the celebration zest all over the world. Even India does not stay behind in that. Every state celebrates the new year with great fervour. Himachal Pradesh organizes the winter carnival in the beautiful hill station of Manali to spread the joy of the new year.

Manali Winter Carnival is the most earnest effort to exhibit the cultural richness of Himachal Pradesh. Their traditional outfits and other activities make the festival even more vibrant and colourful. The impressive folk dance performances and music programmes would surely enliven your mood and set you in that festive mood. It is really a memory to cherish to walk through the streets of Manali and welcome the New Year in style.While the five-day carnival would begin from January 2-6, festive mood will be created from December 25 by installing local cuisine stalls, and many events all over the town.

Some of the main attractions during the carnival are skiing championship, food festival of Himachal Pradesh, street plays and adventure sports. A craft bazaar is also held from where you can buy some priceless souvenirs.

Manali is no longer a remote place with no access to transport.

By Air:

Bhuntar Airport which is around 50 kms from Manali

By Train: 

Chandigarh: 275 kms

Kalka: 310 kms

Pathankot: 325 kms

Roadways also provide easy access to Manali. It is 533 kms away from Delhi by road.

What else , except the carnival?

There are numerous sightseeing options if you happen to visit Manali. There is Hadimba temple, which is quite popular throughout the world. Apart from that, Rahalla Falls, Vashisht Springs, The Manacle Gompa and three Tibetan monasteries can also be visited over here. Your visit would not feel perfect if you miss to visit Rohtang Pass and do not enjoy snow pelting at each other.
