Asia’s Longest Beach Festival – Festa De Diu


Diu’s beach festival Festa De Diu  started with the primary aim of attracting more and more tourists to Diu and promote Gujarat Tourism. It holds the credit of being the longest beach festival of Asia. This year, around 35 lakh visitors are expected to enjoy this festival. You too can be one of them.


From 1st December 2015 to 15th February 2016. It would last for 77 days.

Zones of Festa De Diu

The four zones of this festival or the venues where the festival will be celebrated are: Naida Caves, Diu Fort,  Diu Beaches and the Amphitheatre.


The commencement of Festa De Diu will be marked by President Pranab Mukherjee and veteran singer Shubha Mudgal’s stunning performance.

What makes it different?

DJ parties have become quite clichéd in today’s times. If you are looking for something unique, Festa De Diu is the right thing for you. Adventure sports, live performances by some of India’s best artists,  140 live events and various workshops are the major highlights of this festival. Bungee jumping, ziplining and hot air balloon are among the adventure activities that can be enjoyed. There would  be fashion shows and live concerts too in this festival.

Some of the known artists who will be performing are: Kailasa Band, Ankit Tiwari, Shreya Ghoshal, Malaika Arora Khan, Indian Ocean, Shibani Kashyap, Ali Asgar and many more. Apart from them, around 250 more amazing artists would entertain you to the fullest in more than 100 live events.

The programme is divided into several weeks and themes. India week would be the first theme followed by music week, children’s week, festive week, party week, art week, comedy and theatre week, patriotic week, fitness week, youth week, Diu liberation week and Diu special week.

Places to see nearby

If you are at Diu, your visit to Gujarat would be incomplete if you do not visit Gir National Park and Somnath Temple near Diu. You can even consider visiting Ahmedabad which is around 400 kilometers from Diu.

How to reach Diu?

Nearest railhead : Veraval (90 kms)

Nearest airport : Nagao Airport

For the purpose of Festa De Diu, Air India will organize flights from Monday to Thursday from Mumbai.

It can be reached by buses and private cars too. You can even hire cabs to reach Diu.
