Mukteswar Dance Festival , Orissa

Venue: Mukteshwar Temple, Bhubhaneshwar
Mukteswar Dance Festival showcases the awesome dance form Odissi. You would get to enjoy Odissi dance performances in solo, couple or groups. Held on the picturesque courtyards of the ancient Mukteshwar temple eminent exponents of Odissi dance lighten up the stage with their magical performances.

Konark Dance Festival, Orissa
Date: 19th February -23rd February 2016
Venue: Amphitheatre of the Konark Temple
Dance performances of Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi and Odissi are the main highlights of Konark Dance Festival. Many renowned artists from all over India take part in this festival. Konark Dance Festival is a lot more than just dance. The venue is a very ambient replica of the famous Sun Temple.

Kalinga Mahautsav, Orissa
Date: In the month of February (dates yet to be confirmed)
Venue: Shanti Stupa/Peace Pagoda, Dhauli Hill
Orissa Dance Academy and Art Vision organizes Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav. Kalinga Mahotsav or the National Festival of Martial Dance is celebrated to pay tribute to the Kalinga.

It shows the vibrant traditions of martial art of India through dance and music and marks the victory of peace over war and upholds the essence of Buddhism .Classical dances of Orissa along with many folk dance performances make this festival a grand event every year. It is held in the exotic hills near the historic Daya River, the place where Emperor Ashok is believed to have fought the last battle of the Kalinga war before giving up on war and embracing Buddhism.
Dhauli Hill can be easily reached from Bhubhaneshwar. It is only around half an hour to 45 minutes drive from the city.
