Our country has some stunning and vast landscapes and owing to it, there are many good treks that it is extremely difficult to choose the best. Here are some treks of the  majestic Himalayas that can be adventurous as well as scenic.

Himachal Pradesh

1.Hampta Pass,  Himachal Pradesh

  • Best time – June to mid-Sept
  • Duration- 5 days
  • Highest altitude- 14,500 ft.

The starting point of this trek is Manali and ending point is Spiti. There are rapid changes in the scenery as one moves from maple and pine forests of Manali and grasslands of Jwara. The turquoise water and mountainous desert attracts photographers.

2. Buran Ghati, Himachal Pradesh

  • Duration- 5 days
  • Highest altitude- 15,000sq ft.

This trek is known for its pristine beauty. In this trek, one would pass through a thrilling pass crossing, lovely meadows, dense forests and charming villages. There are beautiful trees that heave with flowers and fruits.

Uttarakhand

3. Kedarkantha Summit, Uttarakhand

  • Duration- 4 days
  • Highest altitude- 12,500 ft

Once you start the trek, you will feel as if it is a fairy tale after seeing the snow clad oaks and pines. This is a winter trek and is known for its staggering beauty. Once you reach the topmost point, you can see a 360 degree view of snow clad mountains.

4. Roopkund Trek,Mystery Lake, Uttarakhand

  • Duration in Days: 9 to 12 days
  • Highest Altitude: 5150 m

The Roopkund trek is filledwith magnificentpastures and astounding views of the mighty Nanda Devi, The most important attraction of this trek are the ancient human skeletons lying at the bottom of the lake, which are clearly visible when the snow melts.

Sikkim

  • Duration- 8 days
  • Highest altitude- 16,000 feet

This is termed to be a romantic trip as throughout the way, you will see flower-bedecked trails and towering mountains.  The Kanchanjunga peak is very close by. You would find the Samiti Lake haunting, owing to its aquamarine colors. Don’t miss out the sun rise from the top of Dzongri.

This trek would make you feel in paradise. With this trail, trekkers will get awe- inspiring scenes one after another. One can enjoy alpine lakes, waterfalls, grassy meadows with vast flowery expansesand superb scenic beuty.

Gurgling streams and brooks crisscross the valleys that come after a pass crossing, each of which is different colour and offers a completely different landscape to the last.This is not for everyone  due to the pure thrill of trekking over a sheet of ice. River Zanskar freezes in the winters when the temperatures falls to 20 – 25 Celsius below zero. The frozen Zanskaroffers a stable sheet of ice to trek on. The Chadar trek in inimitablein every sense the terrain- a frozen river, frozen waterfalls and as well as the adventure gear you use.

8. Great Lakes Trek , Jammu and Kashmir

  • Highest altitude- 13,500 ft

This is the most scenic trek anyone can ever take with seven glacial lakes surrounded green meadows and majestic mountains. . Sloshing streams and rivulets crisscross the valleys that come after each pass crossing,every zone offers a divergent color and an entirely diverse landscape that takes your breath away.
